Is your Monday happy yet? If not, I bet it will be after looking at the explosion of color and cuteness today's "My favorte corner" feature will bring. My guest this time is Natasha, a.k.a. Candy Pop, an inspired and stylish online pal of mine. She has an adorable blog and a Flickr stream full of beautiful images.
Natasha shares a 1930s mid-terrace house in Oxford, England, with her fiance Stephen. She describes her decorating style as eclectic -- she mixes modern and old without hesitation. "I love to be surrounded by the colours and the things I love. I do not believe in hoarding things in cupboards – if you love something – display it". I think this is a great advice, don't you?
So let's take a peak at Natasha's favorite corner...
Why did you choose this specific corner as your favorite?
There is a story, and a memory, behind every little vintage item in our laundry room. The cupboard, a gift to my Mum from her Mum before I was born, formerly housed my Mum's Beatrix Potter figure collection. The corner always makes me smile!
What is your favorite object? Where does it come from?
My favourite objects have to be the vintage kewpie dolls which were part of my Mum’s doll collection when I was a teenager. I also love the postcards, which once again were given to me by my Mum.
Which object you would like to have in this corner but still don't have?
I am happy with our laundry room just the way it is!
If you could change anything in this corner, what would it be?
As above… I wouldn’t change a thing!
In your opinion, what makes a corner a favorite corner?
I think style is such a personal thing, I would say anywhere that makes you feel relaxed or even raises a smile is a good place to start.
Thank you so much Natasha for letting us into a corner of your lovely home! It is so perfect.
